Whole Indigenous families get involved in burning of the wetlands in Kakadu. Burning is important for biodiversity and sustainability and the tradition has been passed down for thousands of years. In partnership with Kakadu Park management on the Boggy Plains Project, the burn offs have made significant impacts on flora returns and wildlife populations and have reduced the threat of wild fires in the woodlands surrounding the wetlands.
