In May 2017, Forest Fire Management Victoria and Dja Dja Wurrung undertook the first cultural burns in Victoria for 170 years. This video tells the remarkable story of how traditional land management practices are being reintroduced in Central Victoria.

We acknowledge and respect Traditional Owners as the original custodians of the Earth’s land and waters, their unique ability to care for Country and deep spiritual connection to it. We honour Elders past and present whose knowledge and wisdom ensures the continuation of culture and traditional practices.

We are committed to genuinely partner, and meaningfully engage, with Victoria’s Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities to support the protection of Country, the maintenance of spiritual and cultural practices and their broader aspirations in the 21st century and beyond.
