Dhungala National Indigenous Fire Workshop, 4-7 June 2019, On Yorta Yorta Woka (Yorta Yorta Country) on Dhungala (Murray River)

The National Indigenous Fire Workshop is a celebration of cultural fire knowledge and practice. This year’s event will be co-hosted by the Yorta Yorta people and held along the Dhungala (Murray River)at Barmah National Park, Barmah VIC from 4th to 7th of June 2019.

This is an important and unique event that continues the journey of the Cape York fire workshops (more info) by rebuilding cultural fire pathways across Australia. Together we will strengthen our cultural fire knowledge base and partnerships by:

Acknowledging and respecting Traditional Custodianship and connection to Country
Enabling Indigenous leadership through community mentorship on Country
Providing inspiring, engaging and informative experiences to showcase Indigenous led fire practices
